You have a typo in your description. The kit lens is a 18-55mm lens, not an 18-50mm lens.

Thanks for the observation but this camera was actually kitted with the retractable 18-50mm. It took me a bit to figure out the retraction lens thing but it's pretty cool for transport and the lens is far sharper than the 18-55.

Oh, okay. I didn't know that, but I don't buy cameras with kit lenses. I buy bodies only. I have the other one, the WR version of the 18-55mm. I bought it separately.

I agree with you buying bodies only is my preference this one was an exception for us.

Got to say it looks sharp with the matching lens. Buying a kit is usually the only way of getting the body colored lens (unless someone is parting out a kit). If I didn't already have a white one I'd be interested. Wishing you all the best with the sale, along with a bump to the top of the list.

I might have to argue with that statement, though I don't have an 18-50mm, my 18-55mm is plenty sharp enough.

If you get a chance take the 18-50mm out for a test it is a different little lens. Very quiet, quick to focus and very small. I shot with a variety of kit lenses over the years and this 18-50 was my favourite despite it's plastic construction. With that said it does not compare to the many good primes I have shot with but they are as different as an orange as to a apple.

Maybe after the holidays, I'll see about renting one of those lenses. I've never owned the first 18-55mm but I owned the second version, and it was tack sharp on subjects I photographed, and the WR is that way too. I read on here that the first version wasn't good at all, I guess that's why Ricoh made a second version.

I'll let you get back to your sale. Good Luck!

I really dig the white body/lens combo! My wife says the K-3 I got for her is "too smart" and wants me to go back and buy her an old Canon. I'll have to see if she wants something like this instead!

My wife never touched my K3 or K3II as she felt intimidated by them. The joy of this camera is that you can shot it like a point and shoot, priority or manual. Then of course we shared the lenses which for the most part worked fine until we both wanted to do macro. I would recommend downloading the manual and leaf through it with her I think she would be pleasantly surprised .
