Thanks luftluss, reh321 it seems like you've got your answer. upon the switch from M42 to K-mount the Takumar name was given to their lower end line of lenses. However the only real difference for most lenses was that they didn't use their top of the line lens coatings. The lenses performance is still identical aside from flare resistance and maximum transmission. The light transmission is still excellent! Its a good way to get a good quality lens cheaper than paying for the SMC version of the same lens.
