I sadly have made the decision to sell my made-in-Japan FA 35mm f/2, which was my second ever Pentax prime lens after the FA 50mm f/1.4. (Note that this is the original “smc” version and not the updated HD version). I have used this compact and workhorse prime lens a lot over the years but it’s still in outstanding condition and renders images beautifully. I trusted this lens for taking pictures at the hospital following the birth of my children. It’s great for vacations, family photos, low light, and works well on both APS-C and full frame. So why am I selling it? Well, I recently acquired a FA 31mm which is amazing but honestly not that much better than my FA 35. Still, I am a sucker for the limiteds...

Cosmetically and optically in excellent shape. Comes with original hood, both Pentax caps, original box, and original lens bag (not shown). I am the original owner, buying directly from the Pentax Webstore back in 2010.

I feel like the 35 f/2 is a lot like the 50 1.7. Sharp and solid colors. I enjoyed mine when I had it.

thanks for the observation! It is an outstanding compact prime at a very convenient focal length for APS-C (about a normal FOV) and a nice semi-wide angle for full frame. Lighter and shorter than the FA 31mm and far less expensive, but very close optical performance in my experience. There is a reason that Ricoh/Pentax chose to revive/reissue/update this lens with HD coating - it's a real classic and a workhorse prime that is great for many shooting applications.
