The MX was a top-of-the-line body, just below the legendary LX. I've been using one for a week since my K10D is in the hospital and I'm liking it more than my SuperProgram.

Even $45 without the lens would be cheap...

And does the bent prism affect image quality?

If it's working I think I will take it just to try out using a film camera... though I don't need that lens- I've got an A 50mm 1.7 that I'd rather use on it.

$45 for an MX + lens! My god, that's a steal for such a great camera. People pay twice as much for a K1000 on ebay...

How do you like the Mamiya lens? I'm guessing the Taks are much better, but am curious to know what you think.

I have not ran a roll of film to test the MX. All components of the MX appear to be in good working condition. I have tried to show the conditions in the posted pictures. At the moment, I have too many gear to sell and the Sigma A zoom goes with the MX. And I think $45.00 is already a bargain value for the camera alone, and the free lens just sweeten up the deal instead of a body cap. If you don't like the lens, you can request the lens to be replaced by a new K mount body cap.

I found that the lens has a large base and I can easily mount an altered M42 adapter on the lens and the base is big enough for the K mount pin on body to secure the lens in place. It can be a converted K lens with an adapter mounted on the lens. I find f/1.8 a bit soft in test pictures, when stopped down to f/2.8, sharpness is quite good and bokeh is decent.
