Item Description
Up for sale is my favourite Pentax lens, the FA* 300 f/4.5. It is a full-frame lens and will work on a K1/K1II or any other Pentax camera. It is an excellent, compact birding lens.


The optical condition is excellent. The glass has no scratches and there is just a little dust. The aperture blades are snappy and the aperture ring works. It has an auto-aperture function for supported bodies. Autofocus works.


The body of the lens itself has some scratches and marring. The hood has quite a few small scratches and a small micro-crack. Due to the way the hood works, putting it on does put some tension on it, and you can see that tension when you put on the hood, but the hood is very solid and should not be a problem. (I got the hood like this and it has served me well for four years).

Comes with front and rear aftermarket lens caps and original hood.

In addition to the shots of the lens, I attached three shots of birds I took while I was using this lens in Australia.

I attached a new shot taken with this lens. It's a Bell Miner, an Australian honeyeater.

It's a great light-weight birding solution for both full-frame and APS-C, as well as being lighter than the DA*300 (which is only APS-C edit: thanks Joeberrio for the corrrection). In fact I have taken thousands of shots of birds of over 300 species with this lens.

Edit: I tried fixing the attachment, it seemed to be messing up the post.
