Not to mention the low-light capabilities

I have three f/1.2 lenses at the moment, so this one has to go.

For heaven's sake, this thing still hasn't sold? What is wrong with people?

Friday morning bump...

Still time to have it delivered before Christmas, and it fits perfectly in a stoking

Hi Miserere, it is a nice lens but I don't know if I can justify buying it even though it is much better than my 50 mm f/2, which I noticed is only one stop difference on this lens (but a big difference in what you can do with it). I am kind of used to the not so fast lens as it was on my first SLR, the K1000. Hopefully you find a nice home for it. If I have the money, I would buy it. Here is a bump for you though.

Thanks for the bump, Basgilly!

I would like to point out that this lens is 1-1/2 stops faster than an f/2. It makes a big difference, both in your DoF and in your bank account

Actually the difference from an f2 lens to an f1.2 lens is more than one stop. It's 1.5 stops. That is much more significant than you might realize in terms of speed.

A lens speed, ISO or shutter speed is exponential. So that means if you have an f2 lens and shoot. then go to f2.8 you need twice as much light. Then move to f4 and you need 4 times as much light and so on. So using a lens that can go to f1.2 is significantly brighter. That is huge in low light situations.

The other issue is DOF control. Being able to open the lens wide will allow you to really isolate the subject in a way few lenses can do.

Finally, the optics are superior. The f1.2's are the best in class by far, sharper, better colour redition and generally better distortion control. There's a reason these lenses sold for over $500 new and the f2 versions were under $100

It's well worth considering this over the f2 version.
