Vivitar 100mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Manual Focus PKA mount

Item Description
The lens is in very good shape, absolutely no oil on the blades. The front element is very good, minor specs of dust for a lens this old, but it does not affect the picture. It comes with both covers (no the original ones unfortunately).

I got this a few months and have not really use it. I am not into Macro work (at least not yet).

Lens made by Keno Precision Optics of Japan also known as Kiron. Serial Number is 22710XXX (New serial #).

If you are looking at this add, you know what kind of lens is it and what reputation it carries. I am lead to believe that it's optically identical to the (I'm told) legendary Kiron/Lester-Dine 105mm F2.8.

The lens itself does not say it. I thinl is is made in 1987 (serial # 22711XXX = 22 is Kiron 7 is for 1987 and 11 is for the month Nov). As far as I know it share same optics with Vivitar S1 but I do not know if this is actually V S1 (by my research).

Let me correct the above statement, the 11 means the week of the year (1-52) so 11 is around first week of march.
The one that is Series One is the "Vivitar Series 1 105mm f/2.5". But they share the same optics and the 100mm predates the 105mm S1. Let me know if you need more info.

I have a lens just like this and it is outstanding. I also believe that it is the same as the Series 1 105mm. Outside of a few cosmetic differences it even looks the same. I'd grab this myself if I didn't already own one.

I have the same lens as well, after a bit of research I found that it is basically the series one before it was tarted up with the red ring etc.

Pics added. The Lens is a Vivitar 100mm 2.8 PKA mount. This listing was updated with the PKA version.

The original listed lens was a Minolta mount. Back on the days I was using Minolta Film cameras. Price is $290 shipped (new Price).
