Item Description
This is the SMC Pentax DA* 60-250mm I purchased from Amazon.

The SDM in mine has always been a bit strange. It needs a few warm up focuses once you start using it and then it works fine for days. Eventually you don't shoot with it for a couple of days and it needs another warmup. I talked about it on the forums years ago, and it's still in the same shape. I'm marking the lens as fair due to this concern only.

Otherwise, it's as fast as SDM ever is. I can definitely see specs of dust through the lens. It's hard for the airflow of this model not to pull in dust when you zoom. Other than dust, glass is clean, no haze, no fungus. Focus is smooth. Aperture snappy.

Original front and back caps and hood. If you purchase, I'll try to find the box and bag but no promises.

I have not modified it to full frame. I did almost buy a baffle from someone, but I have so many full frame lenses covering this range that I just don't need a project.

you mention converting the lens to screwdrive if the SDM ever fails - I was under the impression that this lens could not be converted....

After reading all 19 pages of the how-to thread, I see nobody has quite figured out how to do this yet. I removed the text about it.

With the information that SDM can't be converted to screw drive on this lens, I'm going to drop the price by another $60. As I said, the SDM is fully functional, it just needs a focus or two to warm up.
