For Sale is one Pentax A 50mm f1.7 lens in excellent condition.

This lens is very well regarded and is considered one of the sharpest 50mm lenses wide open. This is the "A" variant which has the "A" setting for automatic aperature control on body and will work with flash (Something you can't easily manage with the "M" version). It is very compact and light and will leave any kit lens in the dust in terms of low light ability and sharpness.

This is a manual focus lens, however it will work fully with any modern Pentax Camera including, K100, K10, K200, K20, K2000, ist, etc. I have used it on my K20D and it works perfectly.

This sample is in excellent condition. No yellowing, fungus or coating problems of any kind. Focus is super smooth. Aperature clicks are solid. No oil on blades. Minimal wear. No caps are included. A Vivitar VMC UV Haze filter is included, but it is scuffed and included for protection only.

I'm giving this a bump, Youngster is a great seller and this lens is very reasonably priced. I have one and it's a great lens. Sharp and great color rendition. This is a no-brainer if you're looking for a very nice manual focusing lens. The A setting is icing on the cake. There have been many reports about the weakness of the aperture ring and of it getting stuck. Mine was ok when I bought it and since I'm using it on my K10D where it's much easier to change aperture values on the body itself, the aperture ring issue is, in effect, a non issue.

The price has been reduced. Even if I do say so myself, this is pretty cheap for a 50mm f1.7 A Lens.
