[SOLD] Pentax K10D, FA 31mm f/1.8 limited, Tarmon 17-50mm f/2.8

1. Pentax K10D ($375 + shipping) [SOLD]
  • in great working condition, around 5213 actuations
  • cosmetic very good to outstanding
  • no scratch and marks that I am aware of
  • comes with all original box, accessories, software
  • no defects that I am aware of, focus is spot on with many lens that I have owned. I never find the need for focus adjustment
  • 14 days return policy after delivery.
  • reasons for selling: upgraded to K20D and thinking of 2nd non-Pentax system
  • sample pictures:

2. Pentax FA 31mm f/1.8 limited ($660 + shipping) [SOLD]

3. Tamron SP 17-50mm f/2.8 Di II ($300 + shipping) [SOLD]

4. Pentax F-1.7x AF TC ($325 + shipping) [Withdrawn]
  • tested in good working condition
  • with front and rear caps, a leather case
  • no scratch, marks, haze and fungus noted
  • with instruction
  • magical in turning a MF lens into partial AF. AF will kick in when focal point is close to target, the TC takes over the AF when AF point is near -- very unique to enhance your MF lens
  • 1.7x TC, the best that I have used among Tamron 1.4x Pz-AF TC and Promaster AF 1.7x TC. I will rate this TC as 8.7 while I rate Tamron 1.4x as 7.2 and Promaster as 6.7. That is in terms of IQ, usefulness and value add.
  • my reports:

I am not leaving Pentax but rather have 2 system with Pentax K20 as main and 2nd system with likely a Nikon D90 with VR zooms in 16-85, 55-200, a cheap 50 and probably a 10-24 in Tamron or 10-20 in Sigma. I plan to sort out primes and special like DA* zoom on Pentax and have zoom lens in the longer end in Nikon so that I can benefit from good primes in Pentax and good zooms in Nikon. The 31mm is the best prime lens that I have used. It has lots of detail even in the dark using JPG, but it is way too expensive at the moment for me to keep. I have the PM with great buyer from France and I hope it gets to someone who appreciate the best prime lens that Pentax has ever produced. I originally toy with the idea in selling all zooms, but after using Pentax DA* 50-135mm f/2.8, it is painful to decide one over the other.

I have tried to save my Lady Queen but once I used the DA* 50-135, I am more impressed how useful that lens is for outdoor and portrait work. If I managed to sell all of my other gear and not much interest shows on the lens, I will keep it for myself -- it is the best street shooter and it works wonder for night time and indoor shooting.

I can only choose one over the other. I am in particular finding the D90 very similar in ergonomics to K20D. It is not in any way better in ergonomics but I am thrilled with trial experience on AF system in Nikon D300 with a 70-200 f/2.8 experience and I have influence by friends. I pick D90 lacking behind D300/D700 because I am amateur and I am afraid of heavier gear.

I have friends with 5D and Canon 40D,50D. I seek for better AF in my 2nd system, I pick Nikon over Canon for IQ, noise, and AF. I find Canon 6+ frame per second can be habit forming in gunshot faction in photo shooting. I find my relative with Canon 40D shooting his Canon like a shotgun and I find similar behavior when I tried 50D in bestbuy. Before I know it, I already press 10 shots. It is impressive to say the least, but it is bad-habit forming in photography. Just my personal biased opinion. I am sure Canon will be just as impressive in various areas.

Thanks,
Hin

Jeff, I told you before that I will be selling my copy soon. I should have made it more explicit, please help me pass along sale to Bradley and he can come to my home try it out in person anytime.

I also have many other good lens to follow after this sale thread on Pentax A 50mm f/1.7 $60, Cosina 24mm f/2.8 with 'A' $50 which is my best wide prime before I get DA 21mm limited, Kenko 2x macro teleconverter $70 which works extremely good with the A 50mm f/1.7 as a macro and 100mm short tele, Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm f/2.8-4.0 Komine $155 which is the best in the Vivitar Series 1 series with 'A' aperture and 1:2.5 close up, and few other inexpensive lens and 3 used genuine m42 adapters $25. And you and Bradley can see the not-yet-listed items in
