It would be helpful to know if you have the original firmware file available from before it was converted to screw-drive in case anyone wants to repair it and restore the SDM function

I do not have that as it is converted years ago by others. I personally tested before and after sdm and decided to convert it to screw driven. Thank for the advice anyway. Cheers

This lens does not get enough respect. I've nearly sold mine a good number of time because I just don't shoot much on APSC digital at all these days, but I can't bring myself to do it.
