Item Description
Pentax MX Film Camera with Pentax-M 28mm 2.8 lens.
Includes original owners manual, Pentax neck/shoulder strap, generic cap, Vivitar Skylight filter and tossing in a rough condition lens hood/shade.

The Good:
* Body wise this is a clean camera for the age..see photos. Still has original plastic on baseplate..but there is crud between the plastic and plate.
* Meter works and seems to be rather accurate.
* Film door seals are good. Mirror foam looks to be in good shape but not sure if it is up to spec.
* Film advance is smooth and the other top plate knobs work as they should.
* Viewfinder is clean with a few small and to be expected dust specks.
* Has the C-1 focusing screen - Matte with split-image center and a micro-prism collar
* Selftimer works

The Bad:
* Have not been able to get a flash to fire on the hotshoe.
* Am guessing some old foam marks on the edge of the mirror...not too bad, see photos.

The Ugly:
* Unsure of the condition of the shutter. Sound does change with each setting but shutter have a little whine when triggered and seems like it may be dragging.
* Mirror will not drop back down after shutter at any setting except 1/60 (..and sometime will stick there as well..) See video below photos for both of these issues.

The Pentax-M 28mm 2.8 lens.
* Like the camera body, this is a nice looking lens.
* Focus is silky smooth
* Aperture ring is smooth moving as well.
* Aperture blades are oil free and snappy .

* There is some haze on a couple of the inner elements...not 'horrible' (..only my opinion..) but there all the same. Tried to get a good shot of it but the strong backlight makes it look worse...instead have added some samples taken today (..01.28.2002..) with the lens mounted on the K-1...was overcast day.

Don't know how easy or difficult the repairs can be for the camera or lens...but sure would make for a nice sample if somebody can.

That pretty much covers it. There may be other unknown issues with the camera that are not listed here....I am trying my best to be up-front about the equipment. So please remember this sale is 'as/is' for parts or repair.
