Irix 15 Blackstone

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Irix 15 Blackstone

Asking Price
328.00 USD

Item Location
Florida (United States)

Item Description
I bought this from a fellow forum member a few months ago. With my curiosity satisfied, and the lens being in a range I typically don't use (too wide), I'm passing it on to make room for a slightly less wide Pentax prime lens I'd be much more likely to use and appreciate.

It's in excellent condition, no issues with the glass or body. Built like a tank, weather-sealed, and full-frame compatible. The lens receives excellent reviews from forum members. Includes all shown in photos which includes the original caps and boxing.

Oh geez, now you want me to unbox it all. LOL!

Kidding Brad, but seriously this lens is boxed like a Russian doll.

I probably have some but finding them is an entirely different issue, so opening it up to take a few would be needed. Are you interested in buying it and looking for images from this specific lens or just Blackstone 15 images? Images from this lens should be identical to what you see in the PF forums reviews or this one: https://dustinabbott.net/2018/08/irix-blackstone-15mm-f-2-4-image-gallery/

Since it's such a wide angle any potential difference with this particular copy would be impossible to see IMO, but let me know if you do need to see one from this copy, and whether FF or APS-C

Specific interest is for Sony FF via an adapter and Pentax APS-C. Specifically interested in this copy of the lens as there is some chatter about decentering being common in the Sony forums. However the data in the forums is mixed and it could be a problem with those users adapters or their brains... lol.

To be completely frank - I am still toying with this idea and I'm not sold that this is the right approach for me given my eyesight - but the locking infinity focus is a plus.

Does this lens have an aperture ring? Does it have kaf4 electronic aperture or an aperture lever? Most reviewers are using the Canon version.

The aperture is controlled by the camera.

Does it have an aperture lever or is it using the electronic aperture control? This mainly matters if I use it on my Sony - where the only way I could control it is via a Novaflex type adapter which uses a mechanical interface to the aperture.

Oh, sorry. It has EAC, no lever
