I purchased this new on August 21, 2013. It has been an excellent camera for the 8.5 years we have owned it. It has never served as a primary camera. It was my wife's when we did some portrait/wedding photography together. It went about almost 4 years with no use.
Sitting for 4 years caused the APERTURE BLOCK failure to happen, and I found a fix online and pulled the camera apart and sanded down the "A" piece that sticks. I fixed it at the start of March because I needed to use it (I purchased a Sigma 150-500 that didn't have the new mount for K-1, my main camera, so I needed to use this for crane pictures this year).
The shell has been replaced under accidents and spill warranty around 2017. I had it slung and it swung and hit a concrete wall and chipped the bottom. It was repaired by Precision (they replaced the shell).
It works extremely well as I just used it the past few weeks to get pictures of the sandhill crane migration with the Sigma 150-500. I also got a picture of the one whooper (estimated 380-500 live in the wild in the world). I'm looking to upgrade my APS-C camera to a K-70, K-3II, or KP. I need some funds to get there.
It functions perfectly, there are no issues from the aperture block repair, AF is accurate, body has a few nicks, and screen has a few small scratches, but overall it still is very clean and it is a beautiful camera. I wish they still made them with this grip and this color.
