[SOLD] Takumar (Bayonet) 135/2.5 Great Condition

For Sale is a non-SMC "Takumar (Bayonet)" version of a Pentax K mount 135mm lens with max aperture f/2.5. It's a fast telephoto lens, but some people say it doesn't have quite as good optical qualities as the SMC Pentax 135/2.5. I can't really say for myself about the comparison, but it's still a great deal for a fast tele lens. The lens is a straight up K mount lens, so it operates in the same manner as M- or K-Series lenses.

This particularly copy is in excellent condition, with very little barrel wear and clear glass. No scratches, hazing, fungus, or other optical imperfections. Focus and aperture both work properly, no oil or slowness of aperture blades.

SN: 5599954

Includes front and rear lens caps.
Includes a Tiffen 52mm Sky 1A filter. it has some glue or coating issues around the very edge of it's glass. Doubt it matters, but it's not a super duper filter anyways.

Price will be $45 including shipping to anywhere in the USA. I accept paypal and will ship the day after I receive payment using USPS Priority Mail.

I picked up this same lens (SN 5427274) on ebay a couple of weeks ago, but haven't had time to shoot with it yet. My wife had back surgery last week and I'm playing nurse. Were you reasonably happy with it?

I haven't really had time to play with it much. I found a good 135/2.5 SMC takumar (M42) at about the same time so this one immediately became obsolete to me. I did a couple test shots indoors and it seemed to be a decent lens, just not quite as good as the SMC tak m42s or the SMC pentax k-mounts.

I've reduced the price now! $45 including shipping. I need to get this baby out the door!

Well, I'm kind of tapped right now, but maybe after the holidays, if no one takes it. If I'm all responsible about saving for more important things I may distract myself with a little something 'different' to play with.

This lens is still available! It's a good cost-concious compromise when compared to a faster 135/2.5.

Is there any way this lens could be used on a Canon DSLR (the Rebel XT)?

I don't think that Pentax K-Mount to Canon Mount adapters are readily available. I have heard that they do exist, but have never seen one myself. So I don't think that this lens would work for you if you are wanted to buy it for a Canon.

Adapters are pretty readily available on ebay, but I have no idea how well they work.

For example: Adapter Fits Pentax PK K Lens To Canon EOS Camera - eBay (item 370135969024 end time Jan-02-09 08:56:42 PST)

Ahaha! Mine!

(Well, we'll see how 'ahaha' this is, but I think it'll be fun. A conversation was struck up about what these late 'takumars' can do, (after I asked) and I think I will be greatly entertained to find out, at least.

I think it'll be fun: I haven't had a 135 since I was slinging Mirandas.

Which is a long way around saying: Happy New Years', everyone.
