It is a wonderful lens and one of my most used. I love it dearly.

But $180 is about double the normal price.

, thank you for your bump. Yes, my asking price may be a little bit higher, so when some body pm me, I lower the price a little. Last time I saw one on ebay(one week ago, I want to sell mine, so I watch it to ask a reasonable price), the last bid is about 110usd, but worse condition, I am not sure whether it is with genuine caps or not, no hood, case. Anyway, if I can sell it out, I will lower the price and move it to ebay. The last, thank you for your reply.

I can only speak for myself but I've never considered our marketplace as a bargaining market. When I see a price I assume that's the price the seller wants and if it's to high for me I never send a pm in the first place!

, sorry, if I break the rules. But in my opinion sometimes the seller may be not familiar with the price, such as me, I am just a student, not a professional seller, I buy and sell lens following my interests, I vote for bargaining in the PM, of course not in the thread. Anyway, thank you for your suggestion.

I almost always ask for a lesser price from the buyer, unless the lens is priced lower than it's worth or right at market value, then I just pay asking price.

That's what the word "firm" is for - if you don't see that, you should always feel free to ask for a lower price - politely. Of course, if people are feverishly PM'ing on the lens, asking for a lower price is silly and will probably get you bumped to the end of the line.

I think US citizens have a harder time with this - in this country, bargaining for a lower price isn't done as often. Usually, "the price is the price."

BTW, $160 for this lens in this condition is quite fair, IMO. I paid $135 for one with a slightly damaged filter ring.

Oh Leikey, I did not mean to say you were breaking any rules, no need to apologize. I was just commenting on how I approach the marketplace.
Yeah Jay, maybe this is a failing on my part, I don't know, I'm just not much of a bargainer. If something is at a price I consider good and the item is something I want and I have the bucks at the time, I just go for it.

Thank you jsher, I saw the lens review database, the price range is so big, that is why I am not sure what price I should ask.

Case, caps, hood, and nice looking exterior. Looks pretty good. Perhaps post a sharper image showing the lens' front and rear elements, and looking straight through it to give prospective buyers a better impression of the lens.

Hello,

I used a lot this lens before getting my K85/1.8, and it is really a great performer (mine is still in my bag), as you can see here:

Moreover, it is cheaper than what i paid for mine two years ago ...

Happy 2009
