Hi, sorry I'm not up on my Tokina specs, the lens descriptions in your pictures say AT-X. Do you know what that refers to?

Thanks
Greg

That was just the only one listed on pbase... The ATX version (tokinas upper tier lenses) is an Autofocus lens. This is not the ATX, it is a manual focus lens...

I know the AT-X version is a pretty good lens. Do you know how this compares? Can you post/provide 100% crops of any of your bird pix? (Any full size on dpreview?) This is auto aperature, right? Does the rear element sit inside the mount flange or protrude a bit? (Curious for using a TC.) Lastly, if I may, why are you selling?

Thanks
Perry

I cannot make a direct comparison with the ATX version as I have never used it. However, at more than twice the price, I would hope the ATX version offers better IQ, not just auto focus. That being said, this lens produces quite good results for the price. It is not a pixel peeping lens, but I have printed quite a few 8x10 from my DS with it and the quality has been great. The rear element is recessed, I have used it with a Sigma 1.4x EX DG converter (one with the protruding front element) with decent results... Yes, it is auto aperture.

Edit: Added a better picture... This one was taken on a tripod..
