[SOLD] Metz Mecablitz 54 MZ-4 w/ SCA 3702 M adapter

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Metz Mecablitz 54 MZ-4 w/ SCA 3702 M adapter

Asking Price
US $210

Item Description
Metz Mcablitz 54 MZ-4 flash w/ Pentax SCA 3702 adapter.

Mint condition, includes original box, pouch, manuals.
  • Very powerful: GN 54 (m) /177 (ft)
  • Head tilts and swivels 270 degrees
  • Has secondary fill flash for use when bouncing. Secondary flash turns on/off with a switch.
  • Power zoom all the way to 105mm
  • In M mode, dials down all the way to 1/256th power in 1/3 increments. That's the lowest user selectable power level I've ever seen.

The SCA 3702 module provides TTL (not P-TTL) support for all Pentax film and digital cameras that use TTL (up through the *ist lines). I've found the "A" mode provides very accurate results on my K10D and doesn't include the annoying P-TTL preflash. If you want P-TTL, you can purchase the SCA 3702 M2 adapter that provides P-TTL capability.

Note that even on a P-TTL camera such as the K10D, the flash recognizes zoom, iso and aperture information for use in calculating "A" mode expsoure and flash head zoom operations.

I have the same and in AUTO mode works so so sweet! as you said the zoom, F stops and ISO works perfect!

Recently I figured that Metz official service can modify the 3702M into the M2 version...

Bogen Imaging repair folks re-chipped my 3702 to a 3702 M2 at no charge in about a week.

Now .... it took me months to get someone at Bogen to talk to me about it to get the right address but after that it was smooth sailing. In the US, contact the repair number rather than the tech support number. Kevin at tech support is a nice guy but apparently too backed up to return the scads of voice messages people leave for him.
