Fully Manual. It will convert your 50mm to a macro lens. Magnification is variable, from 1:1 to 1:3. I've used it with many lenses. It can even convert my A100/4 macro lens (1:2) to 1:1 or closer! The plastic nob is missing, but the metal lens realease works just fine. The Macro images I've posted are both Hand-Held, using a desk lamp.  Are you the original owner of the item being sold?
