I don't know if there was ever a "matched" TC but I doubt it. I have the same 2X-1 as the seller is selling, I got it from a rather odd eBay buy of a Vivitar 200mm F3.5. (The seller claimed it was a K-mount which I doubted, turned out to be a Tokina-built TX-mount lens, the 2x TC, and a junky aftermarket M42-K adapter which didn't allow infinity focus. But it was cheap!)

I since picked up a Komine-built version of the Vivitar 200mm, which is what I believe the seller is selling. (Can't tell for sure without seeing the serial number. BTW, anyone who thinks the Komine-built one is heavy should see the Tokina one, it dwarfs it!) I've used that lens with the 2x teleconverter a few times, most recently at Disney World. It's can be a touch slow and prone to CA but you can get some decent results. Here's a few examples.

This one's blurry probably because of the slow shutter speed, 1/80th is pushing it for 400mm!

Hi,
I purchased this lens from this forum, this is a good lens for me. Its a cheap 200mm fast lens, if you stop it down to 4.5 it is very good. You can read the reviews for this lens in lens review section.

I tried the combination (Vivitar 2X-1 TC and 200mm F3.5) on my Spotmatic II and it did work as expected, ie, aperture wide open for regular viewing, and stopping down cleanly when turning on the meter and when taking a photo.
