So most of you may have seen several of Ben's listings I'm helping him with. This is another great one of those lenses.
Here we have a lens and one PKA adaptall mount available.

Or

Tamron 17mm SP F3.5 Adaptall wide angle. Another excellent lens with a very good reputation. With PKA adaptall mount: $240.00

One remaining PKA Adaptall mount. This will allow the lens to have electrical contact with the camera and will function just like the modern Pentax lenses with full program mode and AE controls. The only thing missing would be the lenses are Manual focus. The used value of these adapters is between $100-120 on Ebay (about the only source other than this marketplace).

Paypal only and shipping is as follows:
Canada and the USA $15.00
Rest of the world $35.00

Lens is in excellent condition with no issues on the glass, no oil on the blades, No problems to consider. Shows some signs of light use but otherwise have years of great life remaining.

Wow, 158 views and no offers even. I really don't think either of these are over priced at all. I checked KEH and Ebay closed sales and they are priced under those. The combo deal is even cheaper.

Here's my take (and if out of line, feel free to delete the post). Take the Tamron 90mm Macro at $240 for example. First, a quick search on this forum showed a recent asking price of $185 from a forum member for what looks to me like the same exact combo (I may be mistaken though--I've never seen or used an adaptall). Also, there seem to be lots of other good macro options for Pentax around this focal length for around $100-$200 (or less for that matter). And although the big 3 current offerings, Pentax DFA 100mm AF, Sigma 105mm AF, and Tamron 90mm AF, are priced higher new, $240 seems to inch ever closer to those and other offerings, at least on the used market. The adaptall mount may cause some hesitancy as well.

Good luck with the sale though--it seems to be nicely regarded.

Jeff, I don't mind the debate at all. I had a look as well. There were 2 that did not include any adapter but had the tube. both around $180. So for $60 extra you get a PKA that usually sells for $100 alone. IMO there's nothing in this price range that can really touch the lens. Old Tak or pentax K/M lenses, 50 f4 and 100 f4's are very nice lenses but can only get to 1:2 and have no AE control. With the adapter tube, it becomes a 180mm and lots of working distance.

But Ben is open to a reasonable offer. I'll reduce the prices on both and see what happens.

This thread showed some examples from it and the lens is excellent: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/41691-sellers-remorse-ta...2-5-macro.html

Gokenin, I wish we could provide direct pictures taken from the lens that is for sale but Ben does not have a Dslr to test it. So as second best, I found some sample shots from Pbase and learned something as well. The lens has 3 built in filters (It's a film era camera) in the front. Tamron SP 17mm f3.5 Photo Gallery by Yu-Lin Chan at pbase.com

also

Tamron SP 17mm f3.5

The filters are to warm the image and for B&W use. They might have some interesting applications with a digital.

I know we're not supposed to discuss prices, but seeing as someone's already complained they're too high, I thought I'd chip in to say that if anything they're too low! $375 for the pair with PKA mount is an absolute bargain.

I thought they were very fair. I guess everyone's got both these FL's covered... Much of the unsold stuff will have to go on Ebay at $0.99 auction style. We'll see what happens there I guess if there are no takers.

Before anything goes to eBay...

I didn't offer as I'm about to be well covered both for macro and for PKA mount. But that seller's remorse thread link has some gorgeous shots with the Tammy, and a prime 2,5 90mm might be attractive for MF portrait work, macro capacity a bonus.

I was waiting to see if someone would buy the PKA + 17mm, and then check pricing on the 90mm alone, since that's the proposed order of sale from the first post. Plus, I've been indulging the LBA WAAAAY too much lately already.

But I could skip the wait and offer for the 90mm w/o PKA (in fact, I wouldn't need any mount), I suppose. Just didn't want to jump the cue.

I had the 17mm Tamron for a few months and it was quite a good lens. Wide open it was less that stellar but stopped down it really was nice. The colors were great and distortion was minimal for the FL. I sold it, with a PK adaptall, for $200 within an hour or so, and I had at least one other offer before I listed it as sold. This one, considering the addition of the PKA adaptor, is priced a lot below what mine was. It must just be people being more frugal these days. But for anyone that's on the fence about the 17mm at least, it's a great lens and a bargain at this price.

Lens sale updated and the 17mm is still available with the PKA Adaptall. Price lowered.
