[SOLD] M42 / K / KA / FA Lenses Grab bag of Vintage to Current lenses. 50mm FA f/1.4

M42 Lenses:

Auto Rikenon 55mm f/1.4 M42 Screw Mount
This lens is in "Ugly" condition, but works perfectly - $50 USD $35 Shipped to ContUS
No flaws in the optics that would affect the image. There is slight brassing on the focus ring and a slight flat spot on the top rim of the lens. The colors of the numbers on the ring are dark and dull. It may clean up with glass cleaner, but I left it as I acquired it. Quality wise, I'd rate this lens equal to an M42 Takumar 50mm f/1.4 and maybe even the Pentax-K 50mm f/1.2 as far as sharpness at f/8. Color rendition is very accurate. It is a chunk of glass!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Takumar 17mm f/4 Fish-Eye with O2/UV/Y2 filter ring
Excellent Condition - $375 USD $300 Shipped to ContUS "SOLD"

Very slight brassing on the focus ring and Auto/Manual lever.
History: This lens used to belong to Peter Fronk who was a renown photographer in the 70's for the San Francisco Chronicle. If you Google his name you will find many photo credits in old articles and you may find a few galleries featuring his current work of art and photography. The reason I know this lens belonged to him is because the lens is inscribed with his name and driver's license on the barrel, like he took a stylus and scratched it on there. Perhaps all photogs in his day did this so no one would bother stealing it (paronoid?). So grab a piece of history with this old classic lens used by a somewhat famous photographer! Beside the name carved onto the barrel and slight brassing, the lens in in pristine condition with perfect optics. Comes with a lens cap in a little case that fits the lens perfectly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Soligor 55mm f/2.8 1:2 / 1:1 Macro M42 Screw Mount Lens
Mint+ Condition - $125 $100 Shipped to ContUS "SOLD"
This lens is absolutely beautiful with excellent quality. The cleanest and shiniest M42 lens I have ever seen. Regular lens shoots 1:2 Macros. There is an extension Tube that goes on for 1:1 shots. Comes with the original Soligor Brand lens cap and barrel case.
I am the original owner. This has been in my closet for over 35 untouched. I probably used it once then switched to the ME-Super with all K-Mount lenses.

K and KA Lenses:

Marexar-CX MC 80-205mm f/4.5 K-Mount Manual Focus Zoom
Mint+ Condition - $75 USD $50 Shipped to ContUS
This lens is in like new pristine condition. Not a scratch or mark on it! Beautiful lens. What makes this lens unique is that the front thread is 52mm, so you can buy a 52mm reversal adapter to use this lens as a macro lens.
S/H $5-10 Continental U.S. / $20-30 World Wide

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Phoenix/Samyang MC 18-28mm f/4-4.5 Pentax-KA Mount
Mint+ Condition - $75 $50 Shipped to ContUS "SOLD"
Another lens in pristine condition without one nick or scratch. Comes with a hard case.

FA Lenses:

Tokina 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 1:4 Macro Zoom AF Lens
Excellent Condition - $75 USD $50 Shipped to ContUS "SOLD"
Great little compact lens. Very useful range for a walk around lens. Macro comes in very handy.

I guess the AF logo would have given that away, lol.

WOW! I've got the exact same lens as the Phoenix/Samyang MC 18-28mm only mine is labelled Cambron, it's a surprisingly good lens I think. I didn't have much expectations on a cheap zoom from the mid 80's but I have used it a lot! Looks like it's in great condition too, I'm almost tempted.

Phoenix/Samyang 18-28mm f/4 Pentax-KA Test Shot

I shot this with a K20D, Auto Shake Off, Manual Mode, Manual Focus using Katz-Eye Focus Screen, Hand Held, ISO 1600, 1/30s, between f/5.8 and f/8.

Focus was easy. You get focus tone when the focus is in. Lots of turning of the ring to fine tune the focus. Closest focus distance was about 2 feet. Kind of trial & error getting the exposure. I just shot until I got blown highlights, then closed down. After I took this shot, I immediately switched lenses to my Pentax 16-50 f/2.8 SDM lens and shot at the same ISO, f-stop, shutter speed, distance and focal length to compare. Image sharpness was about the same. What I did notice is that the image shot with the P/S lens had a slight blue cast with the SDM len being more accurate to the scene. I read where old glass does tend to be blue or other colors depending on the manufacturer. Once you get to know your lens, then I suppose you could adjust you color settings in the camera to compensate if you are shooting JPEGs. Anyway, the fix was easy with a couple of clicks in Photoshop to cut the cyan back. No big deal, but not as nice as getting the color right with the SDM lens in the camera.

A better test would be to shoot in day light with a subject that will test the wide angle focal length. It is raining here, so this is the best I could do for you. I think you'll find that the lens did a pretty decent job!

Wow that macro... shiny

I have an amazing M42 Vivitar Series 1 90mm macro with matching 1:1 converter... it is shiny and beautiful, and looks similar in design to the soligar...
ummhhh I wonder if they are related?

Tempted....

That Tokina 28-70mm is a good lens. If I didn't have the Pentax F 35-70, I'd pick this one up. I'm tempted anyway. That macro lens is a good lens even if it is m42 mount.
