Ok, one more thing to try and clean out my unused LBA symptoms. I've got an Auto Vivitar 200mm f3.5 ready to go to a new home. The exterior shows a little bit of wear (see photos), and there is an SSN or ID number scribed into the barrel underneath the pull-out hood. Optically it is excellent, with no problems that I can see.
It seemed to perform as well as my SMC Takumar 200/4, maybe even has the slight edge due to it's extra half-stop of speed. But I like to stay true to the Pentax line up if I can, so this one will go.
Everything functions properly. Focuses down to 6ft, which is a couple feet closer than the takumar version, so that's another plus.
