Just a comment -- it looks like you're removing prices from items as they're marked sold. A lot of people do this, but it makes me sad. This information (past selling prices) is really helpful to subsequent buyers and sellers in determining fair prices for their own items.
Great point, and one that should probably be a suggested guideline for selling on the forum.

You know, I've been annoyed by the same thing and did it by reflex anyway... I think in an effort to keep my PM'box manageable.

I wouldn't object to leaving sale prices in there, just want to make it as clear as possible when items are no longer available. People tend not to read an entire post - notice that I got a "useless without pictures!" reply shortly after my post despite mentioning twice that I was at work and would add photos in the evening?

I'll leave them here, I guess, further in the thread: $50 for the 28-200, $50 for the A50/1.7, $30 for the 135/2.8 and $10 for the Pentax Remote F.

Best,
Drew

Seems like one could do e.g.:

Sigma 75-300mm f/4-5.6 - $50

changed to

Sigma 75-300mm f/4-5.6 - $50 - SOLD

That seems clear and meets both needs?

I'm not trying to pick on you, BTW. Just trying to spread the word, and your thread was the first one I bumped into that had the issue.

Thanks for posting the sale prices!

The A50/1.7 - maybe my favorite K-mount lens for any price - is sold, so that means the switch is on. I've still got two bodies and a very nice wide zoom up for sale.

I've removed shipping charges (CONUS only) on both bodies. Surely someone could use a dead mint DS for $220 shipped, or a nice K10D for $350.
Shutter count is 599 on the DS!

Thanks!
Drew

Ahhhhhhhh that dS is tempting...

Does the 17-35 come with a lens hood? Any comments about its image quality? Is it a DG (for digital)? Where in the zoom range does the lens go to f/4? The net is sparse on details. If I can sell more stuff locally, I might be interested

Hey Ryan, unfortunately I don't have the hood for the Sigma, just the original front/rear caps and an 82mm UV filter for it. f/4 is at the long end of the range obviously but I'm not sure at which FL it goes there... if I get a chance I'll try to mount it on the K10 and report on that.

Quality is quite good - wouldn't say breathtaking - but very good for a wide zoom at this price point. This is a full-frame lens and - probably goes without saying - 17mm is especially fun on a film/FF body. On the K10 it's a little wider and faster than the kit lens. KEH sells these at or around $200 in the various mounts.

There have been a couple versions of this lens - this is the Sigma EX Aspherical with the 82mm filter. There's at least one newer version, full frame but digitally "optimized", with a 77mm filter size. There may be an in-between version with a 77mm filter and the older optical forumla, but I might be making that up. Like a lot of wides, there's some softness in the corners that clears up nicely around f/5.6-8.

I'm including a generic UV filter for it, good for protection anyway, which is hopefully all anyone should need. You probably don't wanna buy an 82mm CPL for a $150 lens...

Drew

Drew, thanks for the reply

I'm just trying to figure out a walk-around solution til I can afford a DA 16-50. The kit lens would be nice for the price and extra reach but (and I'm glad you confirmed it!)...the Sigma is FF capable for the ol' MX and a bit faster to boot

But I might just keep a lookout for a sub-$100 version II kit lens to hold me over. All my lenses can also go on the MX and the 16mm and 28mm would be nice n wide if I'm not using the M50...

If no one scores the dS (how is that not gone yet??), I'm still thinking hard about it...

Is this Gerry Germar or Gerry me?
Either way, it's all good so long as everybody benefits from it (you selling your items and members happy with their purchase.

Well, I was thanking the guy who bought it.

The K10D and Sigma 17-35mm are listed on eBay. In accordance with The Rules, I won't link to the auctions. Until I say otherwise, both are still available to forum members at the listed prices.

Best,
Drew
