[SOLD] Helios 40 / Jupiter-9 85mm f/1.5 M42 Lens w/ Case + Filters -- One Day Only!

Item for Sale
Helios 40 Jupiter 85mm f/1.5 M42 Fast Portarit Lens w/ Case + Filters -- One Day Only!

Asking Price
$250

Item Description
This needs to sell very quickly, so I'm offering it here for only one day. On Wednesday morning, I will list it on eBay for a lot more.

This lens was recently CLA'd with a professional camera company in New York. The focus is now extremely smooth, and the aperture blades are clean. The whole body is quite good looking as well with no serious marks. There is some wear on the rear screw mount, but caps and adapters/mounts still couple perfectly with it. There is a small mark on the rear element but it has no effect on anything except cosmetics.

Please check eBay if you're interested in this lens, you'll see all the other copies coming from Russia (without nearly as much love!) or other far away (depending on where you are, of course) countries, and they are all in used and poorly-described condition. They are also going for about $325-400, and they are usually "M39 version with adapter for M42". There is a BIG problem with this! M39 lenses have a different flange-to-film distance than M42, meaning that adapting one will NOT ALLOW INFINITY FOCUSING! You will be limited to a very narrow range of use for the lens. This lens is the M42 version, verified focusing to infinity with my K200D, *ist DL, and other 35mm cameras!

If you're interested, act quickly. I need to sell this quickly and the opportunity to get it at this price will be gone on Wednesday, Feb 25th. You'll get everything seen in the pictures below. Thanks!

actually, this is Helios 40 lens, earlier version (no -2 version indicator, silver-colored).

Helios 44-2 is 58mm f/2 lens.

Thanks a lot! I own both and I get the numbering scheme confused.

It's Helios 40/1.5 lens first ver. with m39 mount, you can see the m42 adapter ring on the third photo. I have the same lens and it focuses without any problem to infinity.

It shows up under that keyword on eBay sometimes even though it actually refers to the 85/2 lens. It's here to make sure anyone looking for this lens, by whatever name, sees it.

That ring is an integral part of the lens and does not budge, thought it may have been welded/glued/whatever by a previous owner or the manufacturer. Also I am confusing L39 and M39, but the rest of the points remain the same.
