I always tell the seller to put 100$ as the value on expencive lenses so that the custom wont get suspisius and dig for the real price

A firend had some car parts sent to him as "gift", the custom did some searching what they where worth in sweden. They said that they where worth 3000$ in sweden, he bought them for 700$. So he had to pay custom on 3000$ instead of 700$. So he paid as much in custom as he payed for the parts.

So a low value is always better then the "gift" option

Some good info here for US buyers, (and aussie sellers).

I'm happy to assist by declaring the goods value as instructed by the buyer if that helps.

For the record, I'd be perfectly agreeable if someone wants to buy this and ship it to me--in fact, I'd appreciate it very much ;~)

Still available and price lowered.

If no further interest over the next few days then off to Ebay it goes.

$3,100 USD is still only retail for this lens and not really a deal - does look like it was extremely well taken care of. The two on Ebay that have been running are going for about $3,100 shipped with $200 off from live.com.

Are we taking offers or is the price set.

Feel free to make an offer...it's costing me money everyday to hang on to it as the aussie dollar has gained almost 15% on the greenback since I first posted.

:shakes fist:

For a sec I was going to check exchange rates. Then I told to myself, no no no.... must control.

For the ones thinking about it, just notice how good it's by herself at 300/2.8, and the "option" of teleconverters giving 550/4 or 600/5.6.

Have to stay away from this wonderfull lens.

I'm running away fast.

Hope you sell it FAST and end this torture.

I have purchased quite a few lenses from outside the US, I have not had any additional fees applied.

That may help you avoid paying Customs duty, but the seller will only be able to insure the lens for the value declared on the Customs Declaration.

Sir Bazz if you've seen the items being pulled out of Ebay auctions of late I wouldn't go there.
Now if you can take Kev's pressie as a down payment with weekly installments of #10 I'll gladly take it off your hands.
Pity I didn't turn up to the Whirlpool outing, would have been nice to test drive it. Might have to catch up sometime before you sell so I can reminisce with the grand kids about a lens I might have owned.

The aussie dollar has soared since I first decided to sell......will probably keep it for now so we can hook up some time if you like.
