[SOLD]Sigma 24mm f2.8 AF Super Wide II Hood, CPL and UV with case.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Sigma 24mm f2.8 AF Super Wide II Hood, CPL and UV with case.

Asking Price
$200 USD

Item Description
I don't want to sell this lens but need to get a DA12-24mm before the prices go through the roof. I've had this for quite awhile and it's a very nice lens. Sharp even wide open. Shows a little wear on the barrel but otherwise in fine condition.

I based the price on recent Ebay sales. The older manual focus version of this lens is selling around $150 and this one is PKA with Auto focus that also includes extras like the Polarizer, UV filter (both Hoya filters), Hood and hard case. The hood is actually one I bought on Ebay (cost was $25.00 shipped) and is for the MF version of the lens. It's a clip on style. Works just fine as long as you remember to have the petals in the vertical position. If they are in horizontal mode, you'll get vignetting (as you would with any lens). IMO easily as good a lens as a Pentax version (colour and sharpness) Fast focus as well.

The case is a bit ratty around the edges but protects the lens fine. Everything will fit in the case together. Aperture blades are clean and snappy. The glass is haze, and fungus free with no issues.

I'm only here today and early tomorrow. If any one is interested before 11AM EST Sunday (Mar 22). I can complete the deal then. If not I will be back on March 26th and will answer emails then.

Changing your tune about preemptive pre-price-hike buying?

I've heard great things about Sigma super-wides, and as just about everyone would know Peter is a forum GOD. Someone help him out & grab a great lens in the process!

Very good price for a fine lens.

(I also hit the panic button and just ordered a 35ltd macro again - I was going to be good and wait until later in the Spring, but... prodigital2000 may also raise prices soon. I traded my original to soccorjoe for the Nokton, but wanted to have one for the coming foliage.)

But the Sigma ultra-wide 24mm has a great rep. May have to think this one over also....

That's my issue too. I don't need the 12-24 till about mid to late May and if the prices held till then, I'd never sell this lens. It has gotten a lot of use (mostly weddings and similar stuff). I know I'll regret this one. But money's a little tight and this would make that purchase a little easier.

You can see some further comments here and a couple sample shots with the lens. Also here's a wider landscape view:

you are going to regret selling this lens, but i guess you already knew that.

let us know how the 12-24 compares, it's only an f4.

OSV Yes I already feel it The DA12-24mm is slower but my main purpose is the wider end that few lenses cover. The timing just sucks with the coming prices we're seeing reported.

I sold my MF version of this lens on the premise that the *16-50 duplicates the FL at higher resolution (according to photozone)... Which it does - I think the 16-50 outperforms this old lens, but I really miss the Superwide II... Might have to get one ...

Whew--someone bought it! I have the MF and love it but was beginning to give this one serious consideration.
