How about posting something like this in the evening when everybody can get a chance at it?

How is the focus speed of this lens in the pentax mount? It seems to be the weak point in the reviews I have read (other mounts).

Focus speed is very good - for Pentax. I think it focuses just as fast if not faster than my 50-135 did (on the K20D, on the K100D it was a bit slower than the 50-135 IIRC)

I'm with you: I can't resist lining up for such stellar glass at such a great price, but for me it would be insane to add this to the lineup (though something covering 200 @ 2.8 would be awesome, and this would be much cheaper & more versatile than a DA*200).

FWIW, a Slighshot 300AW could just barely hold my Toki 80-200/2.8 mounted, with the hood on (of course with lots of room to spare for other lenses, but by length that was maxing it out). So I'm guessing a 200AW can hold the Tammy, either unmounted and/or w/o hood, but not mounted with.

The modest-sized Lowepro "Nova 4" bag holds this lens + K20D/grip perfectly when the hood is unmounted and reversed on the lens (that's the bag you see in those first shots.)

I actually thought about this - last time, all the Aussies got mad at me!

I figured that there was no *perfect time to post, and that a good portion of people in the US check while at work or even on their phones. But also, I was going to be busy/gone until about now and I wanted to get it sold so I could send it out tomorrow. I may hit the sack early tonight, as a sick little guy has been keeping us up last couple nights. Just wanted to get it out there, sorry, i hear you about the timing.

Focus is quick and accurate - here's a comparison I did of my copy of this lens vs. the DA* 50-135 both focusing from their close focus limit to about 5 or 6 meters. It smokes the 50-135 (SDM = Slow Damn Monkey (it's quiet though and not too slow )).
