That looks suspiciously like an auction

Can you also tell us a little more about the lens?
Does this one have the "A" setting?

Thanks

Nelson, as I recall "auction" type listings here are pretty much not allowed -- see posting rules. Your listing may be closed. Try to search the "sold" section in the marketplace and the lens review section to get an idea of what a lens similar to yours goes for.

I paid **** for this lens on Ebay, with the repair (this lens is notorious for oily ap blades) it was ****total. Other than the aperture blades, the lens was in mint condition, not a mark on the barrel, no dust in the lens, or a scratches on the elements.

This is absolutely a spectacular lens in terms of resolution. Two reported issues 1)ghost flare (I have not managed to get it to ghost flare as some people have complained about, but being an older non digital lens, and a wide angle at that I can see this possibly being a problem in strong light) 2) very common is sticky/oily aperture blades.

I won't add to the comments re auctions/posting price, but given the above (and as per some previous posts) I will deem it kosher not to comment on price (also against rules) but point out that my Kiron-branded version of same was purchased on this marketplace for...oh, around $100...probably $100 CAD and actually $80 USD? (I could be wrong about exact amount, but that ballpark) which I found to be a good price for a good condition copy with snappy aperture blades.

Canon.

I feel kinda sorry for Nelson that we've now given more posts on his innocent lil' FS thread than he's managed to post on the forum altogether (4 as I post this). Rookie errors to omit mount & try to deal with uncertain pricing through a non-permitted auction format. There's a reason I was intimidated to put a FS thread up for the first many months of being on the forum.

That said, yeah Jay we should get the actual mount established, and I realize your post--indeed all of the replies so far--have been contructive and polite. I just hope Nelson sees them that way.

OP says k-mount in the description.

Maybe a k04b, according to rparmar's viv 28 thread?

Sorry about that--they've had this list going of all the different Vivitar 28mm lenses (twelve so far), so that was more for the benefit of the person asking the question (jsherman999).

You can see the latest list here:
