I am not commenting on Peter's price, but lest any Canadian thought the reported massive increase to this lens in particular wasn't going to kick in: McBain (which is so far holding onto pre-increase prices on other lenses) has jacked this one up to $769 CAD!!! And it's the only Canadian source I'm seeing, too (and I have no idea if they actually have them in stock).

Peter, I know I have the luxury of keeping my DA*16-50 and this lens (a great small prime f/2 to contrast that handy fast zoom). If you can manage that luxury, I'd strongly encourage it.

As it is, though, this is a very good offer, especially for Canadians who'll have a hard time finding this lens for sale at all, and certainly not at an affordable price.
