Why? :-(
Please mount it, "shoot the spring" and maybe you'll change your mind...

I own a KIRON version and IMHO it's great...

I've got the Vivitar version, and I still say it's my best lens, BY FAR (and I've got the DA* 16-60 and 50-135).

This lens is absolutely amazing.

And, if you are a student living in Somerville, Ma., a city which shares it borders with Cambridge, can we assume you study at the venerable Harvard? I know for a fact that the southern tip of Somerville is within walking distance of Harvard Yard. If so, it is a mystery how you can afford a camera at all. LOL

The answer might be obvious, but I don't seem to be able to get the lens mount from the photos or description.

It is a KA mount. You can tell by the green "A" on the aperture ring. Also, you can see the button you push in to set the automatic mode.

and...

oh. and there is dust flecks visible in my pictures.
these are just on the outside, i don't have any lens cloths right now and am frightened to clean with anything else because the lens is absolutely perfect and i don't want to mess anything up just to get a nice for sale pic...

I was up there a long while back, and still make monthly payments for my student loans. Best of Luck!
