For all you noobs out there who are ready to upgrade from your kit lens (and don't want to spend a small fortune), this is a great choice. Not only is the IQ better, it's a great FL range to work with and it's close-up (1:2.3) ability is quite useful. While on vacation last week pursuing my love of nature photography, this stayed on my camera most of the time.

I second that opinion. Very sharp lens. The only problem I have with my copy of this lens is vignetting, when stopped way down. It is more prominent with circular polarizer. I have heard that thin polarizers may do better in that respect.

Another chip in for a fantastic lens that is extremely sharp, with a great, wide focal range. This would go well in any Pentaxian's bag.

I'm surprised that this hasn't sold.
Maybe people are saving up or waiting for the "WR" series of lenses which makes sense if you own weathersealed pentax bodies too.
Prices of lenses that aren't weathersealed will probably suddenly drop not unless the "WRs" would be priced too high like the DA star series.
