Picture of Tokina AF mc7 2.x TC

The TC is labeled as Tokina and it also bears the name the Kenko 2x Pz-AF mc7. It has two powerzoom/SDM contacts. I try it briefly on DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 and it does not work on AF with SDM lens, it can only work in MF with the SDM lens. AF are found to work on other non-SDM lens, slow in AF for indoor but reasonable outdoor. This is a new item that comes in a box as in the above picture.

Thanks,
Hin

I love this lens a lot for walk-around purpose. The lens is best in versatility in its focal range reaching from 17 to 70mm when compared to others in 16/17-50mm focal range. Close up is decent with a good ratio in 1:2.3, you can't beat that with other zooms. I sell this in order to gather fund for other needs as in DA 12-24, Sigma 10-20, or Tamron 10-24mm, for the wide angle zoom upgrade.

Thanks,
Hin

Please take note that I did alter the lens for manual aperture and it has been working well for me. The lens is good value. The lens in wide open aperture in f/2.8 is not too sharp but usable. When stopped down to f/4.0 and beyond, it works better than other 200mm that I have used. Bokeh, color and sharpness are decent for this manual lens.

Thanks,
Hin

Sigma 17-70mm sample pictures

If you are in the market for a 16-50, 17-70, 17-50, or a solid performer for walk-around, please consider my good copy of Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5. I like its focal range over others in similar shorter range as in Tamron 17-50 f/2.8. It is great in versatility with a 1:2.3 close up and the added 50-70mm is good for portraits. My reason in selling this good lens is to make way for upgrade for wide angle for landscape in 12-24, 10-24, or 10-20. And I have the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 to cover my short zoom need.

Thanks,
Hin

Unless you're running two cameras you'll miss the short end alot

Bump for this great lens.

Andy, thanks for the bump. I have both the Sigma 17-70 and Tamron 28-75. I like the Tamron 28-75 for events and portraits and I use the Sigma for hiking, outings that can benefit from a wide angle. The Sigma is a good performer. I have been thinking of getting a Pentax 12-24mm, hence the selling of Sigma 17-70. If no one show interest, I will postpone my wide zoom purchase later.

update: I have reduced the price a bit across all remaining items. All listing prices are below my original cost and I eat up the 3-4% paypal transaction fee.

Thanks
Hin

Test shot from Zeiss 180mm f/2.8

I don't recall the exact aperture in the shot, likely a wider aperture in f/2.8 and f/4.0. Test shots from previous identical copy of Zeiss 180mm f/2.8

The Zeiss may be a bit of challenge to use due to the weight and bulkiness, but you get all the attention when you carry it around. It has legendary rich history in the past.

Thanks,
Hin

Withdrawn From Sale

I am withdrawing my Sigma 17-70 from sale. If you have asked earlier about it and still have interest in the lens, you can ask me about it.

[update:] I took the Sigma lens out for a family trip in Japanese Tea Garden.. The sigma satisfy my occasional need for wide angle and it is a great family outing zoom lens covering the most critical focal length in one lens and with a 1:2.3 close up. I call it my best walk-around lens. I have second thought in selling, hence the withdrawal.

Thanks,
Hin
