Additional Details
Don't be turned off by the rusty battery holder in the photo. It is an extra one from my now-defunct Vivitar 285. The actual battery holder is practically new, inside the flash unit.

Everything is in mint condition, except for the extra battery holder.

The flash setup is part of a Pentax film camera system I bought from my local sheriff department. Immediately after purchasing the film camera system, they decided to go digital and the whole case had been sitting in the office until I bought it (I know, wasting tax money)!

The trigger voltage is 8.5V. I used the flash with my K10D for a few hundred actuations (mainly testing) without any problem. My old Vivitar 3500 (also used with my K10D) had the same trigger voltage.

The camera and lens in the photo are not part of the sale.

Please send me a private message if interested in the item!

All PMs replied to, mainly discussing whether the 283 is suitable to specific needs.

The flash is still available for sale. I was able to convince Gus (and I think also Hin) that it was not optimal for their applications.

I think Hinman suffers from a severe case of GAS; he insists on getting the flash.

So it will go to him.
