[SOLD] M 50mm f/1.2

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
K 50mm f/1.2

Asking Price
270 USD (3% if paypal fee)

Item Description
Hello. Up for grabs it this little gem.
Pentax M 50mm f/1.2.
Glass is clean, aperture works, and it can even mount on EOS cameras with adapter.

Ok, for the sake of full disclosure:
There is a lot of dust inside but it doesn't do much unless you are shooting slow film at a large f-stop. Even then, hard to tell. Also, the aperture blade has been shaved/cut so this lens is capable of being mounted on an EOS mount via an adapter. Worked great on my 5D. But this means it is used with stop down metering. Next, there is a few scratches on the front side wall, NOT THE GLASS. For some reason, this is the 4th lens I have seen like this. Maybe a lot of people got the idea to remove the front element cover then put it back on for cleaning?

just for clarification, that is a 'K' or simply 'SMC PENTAX' not an M series lens.

Does this affect the performance of the lens at all? What you do mean by "shaved/cut"? How is the Multi Coating on the lens? Has it been cleaned off? Did you experience much flare from it?

I'm interested in buying, please advise postage cost to Australia.

I'm sorry, I meant aperture lever. I call it blade. But to answer your question, no. It just means you have to use stop down metering.
Shaved/cut means that since the lever stuck out, someone cut it off so it can be mounted on EOS cameras.
Coating is good. It is SMC bro!
Cleaned off? No.
Flare? Well, the front element is mightly big and exposed so flare is an issue, but it isn't horrible or a deal breaker.

Shipping to Australia is (Postage Price Calculator) $25 for Priority.

This lens is in great shape. Anyone who plans to shoot with it, not set it on a shelf will be very happy.

I've used a couple lenses like these in the past, and they are just fine for shooting. Manually stopping the aperture down isn't a big deal for me on the count of shooting with M42 lenses often.
