And from what I know, the Canon 85/1.2 II is not very sharp at wide open. On the other hand, the STF is so sharp at wide open, yet the bokeh is just unbeatable. This lens is the reason why I consider Sony system in the first place. Unfortunately, it's slow and MF only, so sometimes I wish I have the Zeiss 135mm as a backup.
thanks. i've heard about the zeiss before and seen some wonderful pictures from that lens but cannot find the links anymore.

The Pentax A*85/1.4 beats the Canon 85/1.2 on most points according to this test: Canon 85mm f1.2 L (Mark II) vs. Pentax SMC-A* 85mm f1.4
but that test is on APS-C so maybe not as relevant? using lenses like this not on FF is a bit of a waste

Well, my wife will be glad to know that she can keep her Honda!

Great collection and love the product shots--can I ask what lens you took your pics with (I realize it's probably a Sony exclusive, but I'm also curious)? I've seen similar bokeh from a Zeiss Makro, but the colour is different.

For that comment, you MUST post a photo of yourself with gear once that lens arrives.

And any muggings are ONLY to be against Canikonians.

They look like this:

Actually, most of the shots were taken with the Pentax A 50/1.2 at 1.2. And I used my FA 77 to take the product shot of the 50 itself.

Wow. What a nice selection/collection. The FA* Macro is the Pentax lens I would love to have over all others. Unfortunately I will probably never even see one in person, and almost definitely never be able to afford one.
Adam's a lucky man.
