[SOLD] DA* 50-135mm f/2.8

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
DA* 50-135mm f/2.8

Asking Price
$700 US

Item Description

I bought this lens back in December, and I've enjoyed it greatly for portraiture and events, but I also have the Tamron 70-200mm/2.8 and I promised my wife I'd sell one of 'em to offset the DA* 300mm I recently bought... I've hemmed and hawed for about a month, because I'd love to keep 'em both since they really fill different needs - in the end, the Tamron won out for my usage so here's the 50-135mm on the block...

This lens is in Like New condition, the only sign of use I can find on it is some fingerprints on the hood ... No marks on the glass, no marks on the finish - no internal dust that I can see. The SDM works well, and has never shown signs of trouble.

I've found the lens to be quite sharp... click here for some sample pictures shot wide open, available full size for pixel peeping (along with large shots of the lens for your perusal) - mouse over the larger photo on the right side of the screen, and select the original size for full size viewing.

The lens includes the original caps, hood, soft case, box, paperwork, etc... Everything I got when I bought it.

Also available for $30 additional is a 67mm Hoya Pro1 Digital multicoated clear protection filter which has been on the lens since day 1. This filter has a few very very tiny marks in the coating near the edge of the filter which should in no way affect image quality - and totally vindicate my use of filters ! If you'd like a photo of the little marks, let me know but honestly they're narrower than a hair and maybe a mm or two long - hard to see when you're looking for 'em...

Selling

Item Condition

Item Location
Central California

Shipping Charge
Actual cost (likely $15 inside the US).

Shipping Destinations
United States

Accepted Payment Types
PayPal Check/Money Order

Return Policy/Additional Details
Do to shipping and import duties, I doubt this is a good deal for international buyers, so I listed the sale as US only. I'm flexible on this, but I've found it uneconomical to sell a used lens to Canada in the past, so PM me with interest for overseas, but I expect to sell the lens within the US...

Buyers with good feedback here or confirmed paypal addresses only please.

If you'd like to pay with a personal check or money order, that's fine with me as it saves paypal fees - the only downside is I'd want to wait for the check to clear before shipping.

Please send me a private message if interested in the item!

I'm very much considering trading my Sigma 70-200 II for one of these, but I see you've already got the Tammy. Oh well!

Good luck with the sale.

Nice!

I am two and a half weeks away from being able to purchase one of these if I don't get distracted, and there are multiple and very nice looking 50-135mm lenses on MP!

Those are great lenses coming to you cupic, and I'll say that the Tamron 90 will be taking up some of the portrait duties that the 50-135 would otherwise be used for (ie. when the 70-200mm might be too intimidating to point at grandma ).

That's a really tough decision - they really are different lenses with different purposes (though of course there's a lot of overlap). The DA* 50-135mm is really awesome for portraits and events (in my case just family gatherings etc. since I'm no pro) While the 70-200 range is a bit long on the short end for indoor events (even basketball etc. in a small school gym). Of course 135mm is pretty short for pursuing bugs, birds, and other wildlife... I favor the 70-200 for outdoor work and chasing wildlife (when I don't have a longer lens handy), and the 50-135 for indoors, events, and portrait type shooting.

Just bought my 2nd lens from Josh

And I would by this in a heartbeat if I had been working much this summer.

Josh, the eagle has left Squarefield...
