[SOLD] SMC Pentax-F 70-210mm F4-5.6 and SF1 body

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
SMC Pentax-F 70-210mm F4-5.6 and SF1 body

Asking Price LOWERED
115.00

Item Description
To start off, yes I also have the non-smc version of this lens for sale!

This is mainly for the sale of the lens, although the included SF1 body is in functioning condition (describe as good cosmetically), with a strap, Li-ion battery included and also a small holster for both the camera and lens.

Onto the lens. This is the SMC version of the Pentax F 70-210mm F4-5.6. The optics are free and clear of any blemishes, defects on the front or rear elements, and there are no signs of fungus or haze internally. The aperture is fully functioning in both A mode, and stopped down manually at all levels; no sign of oil is on the aperture blades. Finally, the lens exterior shows little signs of use, with only small wear from regular handling - no major blemishes can be found on the body of the lens. Along with the lens come a Hoya UV(0) HMC filter, a pentax front cap and generic rear cap. I will consider international shipping after 5 days listed if there isn't any interest in from US buyers. Only selling to fund a K-x and 55-300 purchase!

Please follow the link for a gallery of the lens. Thanks.

I'm quite surprised this is still available. Great lens, I sure wouldn't part with mine at this price point. I find it takes better shots than my DA 50-200 and built like a tank. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks, surprised it is still here as well. I will likely just keep the non-SMC version as it performs otherwise equal to this version. In good light this is also probably the fastest focusing lens I have used (due to short throw distance). In the end this for me this lens just has too much overlap with the 50-135, and not enough reach past it to warrant keeping - I also really miss the 55-300 and am looking forward to getting one (again, I need to stop this madness!).

$115.00???
I bought mine for $200 here not long ago, and never had any regrets about it. Very good lens. I guess most of the people who know this lens left Pentax system by now

I just had to throw in my opinion here. I LOVE my copy of this lens. Although it is a little beat up makes fantastic images. The colors are so rich and very flattering for portraits. Some of my favorite pictures of my daughter were taken with this lens. In fact prices are so low for this lens lately I just bought a 2nd copy so I can give one to my dad!
I have never used the DA 50-200mm (I have never needed to since I own this one) so I can't say how they compare optically, but if the build quality of the DA is similar to the kit lens then there is no contest. This one far superior. Also it takes 49mm filters (not 58mm like in the lens review on the forum) so they are easy/cheap to find, and I also found a cheap metal screw-in hood that works great.
I have nothing to gain from the sale of this lens, I just think it is an under-rated gem for the price it goes for these days.

Just a couple of days ago I saw some images that were 3-D and were popping out of my computer screen, and later found out that it was taken with this lens. I know I love the rendering, but just can't get myself to get the lens, as i don't see how it would compliment my lens collection. I have the FA77, the F135 and the sigma 100-300 F4, this will be redundant, otherwise I would have jumped on it...yeah, the sigma 100-300 however great it may be doesn't deliver 3-D, but still my bag is so full.....please, somebody, get me out of thios agony and buy this bargain of your lifetime.

With those lenses in your bag, maybe the 70-210 would be good for taking a more compact setup with a single lens, when you dont want to, or cant take everything, haha. I can understand the dilemma, believe me. I just picked up a used 55-300 on ebay so this one has to go (will probably put up on the bay mid-week). Thanks for all the comments, this really is a great lens especially for the price.
