[SOLD] A contact TC's modified as 25mm ext. tubes.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
A contact TC's modified as 25mm ext. tubes.

Asking Price
$33, $32, $30, $30. (FIRM) < last one pending sale>

Item Description
I have four 'modified' 25mm ext. tubes for sale. These were 2X TC's with their center lens element removed, so they act like a ext. tube. It has A contacts so works like an 'A' lens and will do everything except AF, including P-TTL flash.

All four comes with the front cap, one comes with the proper size rear cap ($33), one with a smaller rear cap leaving the electrical contacts open ($32) and the other two doesn't have any rear caps ($30).

The exact brand doesn't matter, but two were converted from a Takumar-A TC, one Vivitar MC TC, and the fourth a Focal MC TC.

So technically you could stack all of these 4 and have a 100mm worth of "A" ext tubes???

That was my initial idea, but the problem is that it leaves a weird artifact in the shape of a bright halo in the middle of a dark frame when all are stacked. When critically evaluated in a regular scene one can see this faint glow. It works well only with the one 25mm ext. tube. Thus the reason to sell all this. I wasted quite a bit of $ to get the right ones (bought some that didn't have the electrical connection etc....but all these work well).

The $32 dollar one sold as well. The two Ext. tubes remain (modified TC's), both with no end caps, but has the front caps unique to TC's, you can put any lens end cap on it. The two remaining ones cost $30 each. It works well with my FA77 too, and will work with most lens (even my sigma 100-300), and will close the min. focus distance and will let you get much closer, real handy with the FA77 with such a long min. focus distance.
