This is perhaps the best Macro lens that I have used. Stunning built quality and image quality. You do not have that feeling when you hold a DFA. It feels like a gem in your hand. I would not mind to sleep with it if it were not for the fear of dropping it onto the ground.

It is the best for the macro purpose. Slightly PF and CA when wide open and when used for non-macro purpose.

The more that I write about this lens, the more I hate to sell it. But here is an once in a life time opportunity to make a choice to buy ONE of two near identical lenses. They are (1) Vivitar 100mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Manual Focus PKA and (2) Vivitar Series 1 100mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Manual Focus PKA. This opportunity allows you to PICK ONE.

As far as I can tell, they are identical in terms of the optics. I can not see any differences on the photos that are taken by the two lenses.

Both lens are in great shape, absolutely no oil on the blades. The original Vivitar is ever so slightly newer than the Series 1. Maybe this perception is due to the differences in the materials used on the hood. I would rate it as Excellent if not Excellent Plus.

The front elements are clean. There are extremely few minor specs of dust. Most of them are on the outside. It does not affect the picture. The lenses bodies are so clean that each time I touch it there are signs. It comes with Vivitar front covers (but not series 1 cover) and generic Pentax back covers.

Again, they are my babies. I tend to rate my babies highly. So you have to make your own judgment from the photos attached. The photos were taken in very bad lighting conditions. I used ISO1000 or above on my K10d for most shots.

Why sell? According to my wife, I "accidentally" bought too many lenses. I hate to sell my lenses, becuase they are my babies. But I just have too many babies for now.

Willing to trade for Sigma 10-20mm + cash or other short focal lenses. I am also willing to consider older Pentax K series lenses.

Payment: Both paypal and money order will be accepted. But it may take a couple of days for money orders to be cleared. DO NOT PAY ME unless I agree to sell the lens to you. Paypal now charges a hefty fee for returning payment. If you do not get my permission, you have to eat the fee.
