These Nikkor lenses will fit on Pentax DSLR's (haven't tested film SLR's)...
Nikkor lenses don't fit PK mount film SLRs. The aperture coupling lever gets in the way (DSLRs' crippled PKAF lens mount doesn't have this lever). If you force a Nikkor lens on a PK mount film SLR, you may bent the lever.

Thanks for the pics - do you remember the focus point on the f8 shot?

Is there any chance of getting some f2.5 shots taken outside?
I'm particularly interested in the bokeh of out of focus highlights and reflections, so any shots of cattails or tall grasses with water reflections, flowers after a rain or similar will show me if this glass has the 'look' I'm searching for.

Focus point on both are the same: close to the '600' marker near the middle.

Sure, I'll do my best to get outdoor shots. It gets dark (I mean dark) by 4.30 pm here now. I'll need to bring my camera with me to work. Wide open, the bokeh is a bit strange. Gives a weird pattern, but stopped down slightly, it's very nice.

Pentax SMC-K 300mm f4

Do you have some pic's you can post with the 300? Also, I could look it up but just since it is your lens, can you tell me if all K-20 functions work with this lens, i.e. focus and exposure controls.

The 300mm is a complete manual lens. The focus is manual and the aperture control is manual. As for metering, you can still use the green button to check the exposure. It engages the aperture and takes the reading.

If you pm me with your email address and I'll send you pictures taken with the 300mm. This thread is getting a bit long to be posting all of these pictures.

Thanks for the interest,
Alex

Looks good at f4!
But the f2.5 shot is too blurry to draw any conclusions.

Good luck with the water heater!
