Item Description
This lens served me well when I could not afford a macro lens. I mainly used it for shooting reef tanks. (Not an easy thing to shoot) Time after time I would get asked what glass was I using. It would surprise people to know I was not using a 1:1 macro.

Comparing it to the kit 18-55mm I'd say its pretty much on par. The only advantage is the extra reach, and like mentioned the macro feature on this lens works pretty well.

I have all original accessories for it. (Box, papers, caps, etc.)

Higher Resolution images and an example picture that I personally took with this lens can be found in my flickr. Thanks -Joe

I bought one of these on eBay and was not disappointed. It's quite sharp and the Macro feature, though not on par with say a FA 100mm F/2.8, is decent. It helped me get these shots of some Mushrooms:

These were all taken with the above Sigma 28-80 and a K10D, and have not been altered.

Nice shots unixrevolution! But yes you are right about the FA 100MM being a better macro lens.

PM sent to get in queue, just in case the first sale doesn't work out. (Hope that's allowable, I'm new to the marketplace...)

I had the first version of this lens and was not happy with it. noisy and slow. but this version should be good. i would buy it had i not ordered a sigma 17-70mm macro.

so, potential buyers, snap it up!
