Because I already have the 31mm Limited, which is very close in focal length.

Great lens, I have one in its native Nikon Mount. I would have picked this up in a heartbeat had I not already have the FA35/2. This would have been perfect especially with the K mount conversion already done!

My friend currently has mine and liked it so much he ordered one for himself. In the meanwhile, I'm having trouble getting it back.

The lens is still for sale. She is lonely and is looking for a new home. (Lonely because 31mm Limited took her place)

Couple more questions(if I may)

Based on your experience, how does this lens stack-up against a Pentax K 35 f/3.5 resolution wise? because I have a chance to get one at or about the same price and I guess this is what would come up first and foremost in my consideration for it.

Also.. is the mount warped on the lens body?
It sort of looks like it is in one of the images.

if so... did you apply any type of glue or resin to fasten the mount to the lens?
because I'd probably envision having to remove the mount and adding some material to bring the facing up to snuff typa thing(maybe a machined spacer).

Thanks again for your help.

Hi John,

I've never tried the K 35mm f/3.5 but I had the SMC Takumar 35mm f/3.5 and I was not impressed by it.
The Mir-24 is very sharp in the center even wide open (sharper than my 31mm Limited @f/2), but the corners lack sharpness wide open. when stopped down to f/4 the corner sharpness is very good.
It's behaviour reminds me of the Sigma 30mm f/1.4.
The best thing about this lens though is the close focus.

The mount is not warped to the lens body, it is screwed in. I had to shave the aperture ring a tiny bit in order to be able to mount the K-mount.

Cheers,

Voe

Voe, I like (!!!) the results you're showing, here, and in the Soviet lens club. I would like to buy this one, but there's no real need .

Bump!

Wow Voe -- those are some of the best sample shots I've seen in the Marketplace. Excellent selling point. Good luck!

p.s. - I agree with Blue regarding the statue.
