Item Description
Fresh from the estate of a local camera collector this beautiful 15mm lens was mounted and used only a handful of times. Its truly a stunning example of a beautifully engineered and quite rare lens.

As you probably know, this lens is designed for manual focus K mount SLRs but will also fit on the latest Pentax digital SLRs (with some loss of functions - please research compatibility with your camera before bidding - the Forums are a great place for that!). The lens comprises 13 elements in 12 groups, weighs 595g and has built-in yellow, orange, skylight & UV filters.

The lens is in near mint condition with few if any signs of use. The aperture and focusing rings both turn smooth and the iris stops down without hesitation. The optics are perfect with no scratches, haze or fungus. Complete with original Pentax caps.

Also I've been informed that this is a K series lens not M series as none of those were made. Can't change the title but thanks for the correction.

We hope to find this one a good home!

Will consider partial trade for the following lenses:
Pentax-DA 35mm F2.8 Limited Macro
Pentax-FA 77mm F1.8 Limited
Voightlander 125mm SL II Macro

Offers considered.

We had this listed on ebay and we had an offer of $675. We will consider all offers over $700. Thanks

Slight correction and a free bumb;

There was no -M version of the lens, only SMC Pentax and SMC Pentax -A versions. This is the SMC Pentax, also refered to as the K-version. According to the serial number and the lettering it is manufactured during the -M lens era though.

Thank you for the correction.

Thought a lens of this quality would be snapped up quick! I must have it priced higher than most. O'well back on ebay at the end of the week I guess.

Price dropped to $750

I recently sold mine on E-bay and it fetched $800, mint condition, boxed and with original hard case, and documentation, it sold to a fellow in Italy.

Great lens on film, not so useful on digital IMO, and it weighs a ton.

good luck with your sale.

Why not so useful on digital? Because of the crop factor? Can you please post the weight of the beast to have an idea if it would be clever on my camera?

I have and use this lens on my Samsung GX-20. Love the results. Somehow they seem more vibrant than the 15mm end of my DA*15-50.
