Item Description
The only reason for selling this lens is because I just picked up an FA copy and knowing me I'll lean toward auto focus.
Cosmetically the lens is beautiful, I can't see a mark on it.
Aperture is dry and snappy.
There are two reasons for the low price:
#1. The aperture ring is not very smooth (which I gather is not uncommon for this particular lens) however, when stopping down it goes to f8 without a problem, to continue further than f8 requires that the "A" button be pressed as youre turning the aperture ring.
It is an "A" lens and "A" is where the majority of people would have it set at, it does go to, and works flawlessly, in the "A" setting.
#2. There is some coating loss on the front element (not a lot, I haven't been able to capture it in a picture) probably from overly zealous cleaning.
It's mostly toward the outer edges, I can't see that it has any effect on image quality, I didn't know it existed until cheking it out for this sale.
