Item Description
Now for sale are two awesome, very high-quality Kiron lenses. They both have a little wear, but work perfectly, and take great pictures. The price for the 28/2 is $80, and the 70-150/4 is $50. If you buy both, it's just $120!
First is the Kiron 28mm f/2 lens. The very lens many a sought-after Vivitar 28/2 lens is based off of. Now is your chance to own the one marketed directly by Kiron! This lens isn't labelled close-focus or macro, but features a close MFD of 0.3m, more than close enough for most subjects you will encounter. The lens works perfectly with no oil on the blades, no fungus, no haze, and the focus and aperture rings are smooth. There are micro-bubbles in the glass, but this happens during manufacture and not only is there nothing to be done about it, but it doesn't affect the IQ in any way. There is some moderate but not severe handling wear on the body. It comes with a rear cap and a Vivitar UV filter.

Second is a Kiron 70-150mm f/4 constant-aperture lens. This lens is comparable to the Pentax-M 75-150mm f/4 lens, and the Kiron actually comes out on top! Check out the following two pics at full-size (which are resized to 50%, no extra sharpening applied), and see which one looks best to you before reading below. They're both taken at 150mm from roughly the same vantage point, wide-open at f/4.0, and focused on the middle drainage pipe:
Not sure which is which? You'll notice in the first picture, there is better edge-to-edge sharpness (check out the wire-frame sculpture at 11 o'clock), better colour gradation, less CA, and a clearer overall image. Sounds like a Pentax lens, eh? Surprise surprise, it's the Kiron for sale here
Remember, no extra sharpening was added. Just modest in-camera settings, colour temp correction, and resizing. So why is a beauty like this being let go for so little? It's got a big ding in the filter ring. Filters won't screw on. There is also a very light scratch on the rear glass. Other than that (and some other minor similar dings), the lens is in excellent condition. Clean, snappy blades, no fungus, etc.
More awesome advantages of the Kiron 70-150 is that it starts 5mm wider; it's shorter, lighter, and more compact; and its minimum focusing distance is a little less than 0.9m, versus Pentax's 1.2m. This makes a BIG difference in practice. The lens comes with a front cap to protect the element, since filters won't screw on.

I think that's all there is to say about them. If you've got any questions, let me know. Thanks!
