I am the original owner of this early digital gizmo from Pentax. Pentax Optio MX4 uses SD cards to record VGA video at 30 fps and Images at 4 MP, it has 2 separate buttons for image capture and video recording. Lens is 10x optical zoom, Super Multicoated SMC. Camera uses rechargeable battery, or 1 CRV3 LiIon. Can work in fully automatic or P,Av,Tv,M mode. Has exposure bracketing mode, has exposure compensation, wite balance controls, self timer, macro mode, etc. Metering on this small camera is very accurate IMHO. It has good flash, when the flash is raised it is very high from the optical line on the lens. It was very nice for it's time. Camera is still in great condition given the age, has a few small rub marks on handle, but nothing major. Lens is free of scratches and other defects. I have 2 DSLRs, and probably took no more then 600 frames with it in 4 years. I think it is useful even today, or can be used to teach your child basic phonography, since it got manual and semi auto modes in addition to auto. it also got quite a reach with its 10x optical zoom, can be a good tool for recreational activity and in places where you don't want to take your DSLR.
