Item Description
Another lens I have to put up after replacing it (sort of) with the amazing and amazingly expensive Tamron 70-200/2.8.

This lens has fantastic image quality and is built like a tank. It's built better than most lenses I've used. All-metal, extremely smooth focusing with the perfect throw, and a great finish. It also has a built-in hood, and holes for a tripod mount (I think it originally came with one; I don't have it). And possibly most importantly, it has a KA mount, meaning that your exposure information will be calculated automatically on all your DSLRs (and most film SLRs) so that you don't have to fiddle around with it. It also works perfect for auto exposure with a hot shoe flash unit. Most lenses that reach this far either cost thousands or don't have a KA mount. The closest one I can think of is the Pentax-A 400/5.6 and it goes for more than double the price of this lens, with a negligible improvement (if any) over image quality.

The lens itself is in excellent condition with (near?) perfect glass, with no visible scratches. There are a few particles of dust inside and outside, but nothing major. No mold/haze/fog etc. No element separation. Nothing nasty. The body has some minor wear, including a couple scratches on the hood, and some very light overall brassing (paint wear). The lens also comes with a 72mm filter, and a filter case for it, as well as front and rear generic caps.

Here are some sample pictures that I took with the lens, with very minor edits (I don't have software that, for example, removes CA -- the CA in this lens is very low, if any at all):

And here are pictures of the lens for sale:

I hear you brother! This lens is a fantastic alternative to that one, with a bit longer reach, although MF.
