i've got a DIY adapter ring that let's you mount a lens in reverse to an existing lens. Two male threads exposed. 52mm and 49mm. say you have a 50mm lens with 55mm threads and a 50mm lens with 49mm threads. you'll be able to mount either of them reversed on the other. some powerful magnification here. using step up/down rings it'll work on any lens combo. the lower 48 only unless you pay the mailing fee. first PM gets it.
GONE

That sounds cool! You would look so hardcore. Hah! How does focusing work? I'm in the UK anyway, plus I wouldn't have a clue how to use it, so may as well go to someone else!

focusing is around 12-25mm . you lean in and out to focus. serious mag tho. i used it on my fuji s7000 and haven't touched it in 2 years so thought i'd let someone else give it a try.
my only stipulations are that you post results and pass it on in the same way you got it.
Arjay Bee was 1st so i guess it'll go downunder.

As I said in my second PM to Roy - after reviewing my lenses - those what would be possible for Macro work I have no 55mm filter threads so no practical use to me at the moment - Bids are therefore open to others.

Reverse macros are fun as images have about x25 magnification - its like using a microscope. Usual issues with adequate light, working distance, depth of field as with other macro work.

I read once that the only truly happy photographer is the macrophotographer -perhaps it is the ultra realism and the never before seen detail that is the attraction.

M Plonsky has a brilliant site specializing in reverse lens macros with a heap of how tos:
Plonsky - Macrophotography Article

Note that his reverse normal lens of choice is a Pentax 50mm F1.4
