[SOLD] Free Vivitar TX and T4 lenses, you pay shipping

I collected these out of curiosity, tested them against other lenses, and now I don't need them anymore. In the summer, I attemped to sell them, but only managed to sell the useful adapters. So I'd like to give away what's left. All of them were made by Tokina.

These first two were featured in my 28mm lens test: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/61891-28mm-len...-pentaxes.html

Vivitar Wide-Angle 28mm f2.8 Auto T4 - MFD 0.25m, filter 58mm, 270g with a mount that I'm not including. It has the older metal focus ring and red /white markings. Eight aperture blades. The focus is just right. The ring turns 270 degrees. The aperture ring only clicks at full stops from f2.8 to f16. This lens has a small chip in the front element and a dented front lens cap that still works fine. No other optical or mechanical issues. Album of photos here: Picasa Web Albums - David - Vivitar T4 28...

Vivitar Auto Wide-Angle 28mm f2.5 TX - MFD 0.25m, filter 58mm, 290g with a mount that I'm not including. This is a different lens than the other f2.5 Vivitar that's common on eBay. (That one is a Kiron with a fixed M42 mount and a 67mm filter.) Eight aperture blades, bokeh must be great! The focus is a little light and it's hard to turn the aperture ring without sometimes turning the focus ring. The ring turns 180 degrees. The aperture ring doesn't click at f2.8 so I set the ring in between f2.5 and f4 to try to get f2.8. It only clicks at full stops from f4 to f16 and wide open. No optical or mechanical issues. Album of photos here: Picasa Web Albums - David - Vivitar TX 28...

Vivitar 135mm f2.5 Auto Telephoto TX - 58mm filter, 6 blades, minimum aperture f16, MFD 1.8m, 520g with a mount that I'm not including. This lens is about the same size as the SMC Pentax 135/2.5 and well-constructed, except the aperture ring only clicks at f2.5 and full stops at f4-16. I really wanted to find an excuse to keep it, because it has a great build and opens to f2.5. I could have sold my K135/2.5 for a lot of money and used this. Unfortunately, it was not quite good enough to make that move, but it's still not a bad lens once the adapter issue is resolved. There are no optical or functional issues with this lens. The lens was included in this test:https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/68032-135mm-le...imes-zoom.html
An album of lens photos is here: Picasa Web Albums - David - Vivitar TX 13...

I also have two T4 mounts. One is a Nikon, the other is Miranda. If no one wants thses, I will use these on the 28mm lenses to protect the rear elements, which stick out. Adapter photos here:

Shipping is maybe $9 tops within the US for 1 lens. I'll be happy to work out an exact price for anyone.

Dammit, I have a T4 zoom, I just missed out when you sold the adapters. I must control my urge to acquire lenses (even if they are free) especially when I can't use them.

@Damn Brit - depending on how badly you want to use your zoom, you could probably modify the Nikon T4 adaptor to the point it would work on a Pentax body...

This offer is tempting because I do have a T4 adaptor but I also have way too many 28mm lenses already.

Thx for the info but I'm happy to wait until one falls into my lap. I have plenty of other shiny objects to play with.

"Free" appears to be a popular price point. The two TX lenses are spoken for. I'll update the thread shortly.

If the 135/2.5 falls out, I'd love add it to my Vivitar collection, though what is the adapter issue you mentioned?

Shipping to 92691...

Thanks!
